Can we sell merchandise? Do you take a percentage?

You get to keep 100% of everything you sell.
We provide tables for Artists to sell merchandise.

It's not uncommon for independent bands to sell several hundred dollars worth of merch at the Festival. Of course, its different for each band, and merch sales depend on many things: the performance, crowd reaction, etc.

"At the South Park Music Festival we logged 80+ CDs sold, a handful of industry contacts, and a chance to perform our music in some of the most beautiful country in the United States."
-- Rev. Peyton's Big Damn Band, Music Artist

"It gave me chills to see so many people who had never heard our music up, dancing, and getting down with the Shadyside All Stars.

We sold the remainder of our T-shirts, and tons of stickers and buttons. We also filled up our e-mail list for the next trip out to Colorado.
"
-- Shadyside All-Stars, Music Artist

Are artists responsible for their own travel?

Due to the great number of artists that perform in the Festival every year, and that the majority of the artists come from places outside of Colorado, each artist is responsible for their own travel to South Park.

The Festival falls on a beautiful time of year in Colorado, during the Indian Summer and turning of the leaves--making for a road trip you'll remember!

It's a scenic drive from Denver to the Festival.

The Festival is in the heart of the South Park, Colorado area, approx 23 miles south of Breckenridge. The Festival is only 1.5 hours from Denver and Colorado Springs, and is the home of a tremendous amount of talent in the form of artists and entertainers.

Flying? You can fly into either Denver or Colorado Springs.

I attend several conferences a year, how is the SPMF unique?

Our location in the mountains of Colorado provides a unique resort-like atmosphere for the conference, putting musicians and music business representatives at a unique ease. It's an atmosphere where real conversation can be had and real help given, not like the stuffy Q&A sessions in a hotel meeting room you get at most conferences.

Even more importantly, the South Park Music Festival is also a community event where real music fans come out to experience bands they've never heard. Your showcase won't be attended only by the bartender and the other bands on the bill. You get a chance to play for and make connection with real fans.

Finally, with only 100 artists selected, this festival isn't a cattle call where your band gets lost on a schedule with hundreds of other bands or passed over while attendees flock to select "featured showcases." Our schedule gives you a chance to play for the people you need to play for.
